Songs of the Century

by Conceived by Carolyn Murphy and Paul Henry

Songs of the Century had 4 performances about 25 years ago (between the 29th of March 2000 and the 1st of April 2000) at The Magna Carta Theatre

To mark the millenium year Carolyn and Paul chose to devise a complilation that takes an affectionate look back at the musical shows of the last century. With such a golden treasure house to choose from the eventual selection was very difficult. Many old favourites have regrettably ended up on the cutting rooom floor. However, the selection of songs was choosen trying to reflect the changing styles of the passing decade. In Noel Coward's oft quoted words: "Strange how potent cheap music is".
